Connector Optics Technologies has received a status of the resident of the Skolkovo Innovation Center

As a member of  Skolkovo IT-cluster the company is to be engaged in development and production of active optic cables for the new generation of supercomputers.

Active optic cables will be based on the vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) and photodiodes produced by Connector Optics. Their main competitive advantages are record data transfer rate (up to 40 Gbit/s), relatively low cost and energy consumption for devices of such type.

“We consider active optic cables as the most perspective and fast growing segment of our sales markets. They  are first of all can be used as the components of new generation super computers using Infiniband standard. Within the Skolkovo Innovation Center we plan to organize the research and development activity for creating and constant improving of active optical components for data transfer with characteristics that have no analogues in the world. Such activity is important for providing advantage and necessary reserve for the future in the conditions of market rapid growth, full of experienced and strong players. We believe that the state support is of key significance for developing high-technology business in Russia and formation of innovative economy,” Aleksander Ukhin, the CEO of Connector Optics Technologies, said.
